For over two decades, Side by Side Kids has enjoyed several long relationships with many church partners. We are truly blessed to serve an amazing community in East Austin with the help of these various congregations.
As we look to the future, we are fortunate to walk side by side with members of All Saints Presbyterian Church. A year ago, All Saints Presbyterian Church opened their new campus in Southwest Austin. This year, Josh Eby, Associate Pastor from All Saints, has been partnering with Side by Side Kids in the hopes of making afterschool programs available to children who live in the immediate vicinity of the church and attend Oak Hill Elementary.
In February, All Saints started reaching out to a small community located just a few blocks from their church. This neighborhood is home to many of the children that attend Oak Hill Elementary. Pastor Eby and members of the church have been walking the neighborhood and inviting their neighbors to come visit the church. Recently, an amazing neighborhood party took place in March on their church grounds in an effort to extend a heartfelt welcome to these families and introduce them to All Saints and Side by Side Kids.
In addition to the wonderful support we've received from All Saints and Pastor Eby, SBSK has also been in deep prayer and conversations with Mark Adams, Pastor of Austin Ridge Bible Church - Southwest. Pastor Adams has supported SBSK by identifying parents who have children attending Oak Hill Elementary who have advocated for SBSK on their campus. In addition, Pastor Adams has provided access to his church campus for strategic planning meetings and is a partner of the SW Campus Support Team, helping lift for Oak Hill Elementary.
This week, SBSK learned that Oak Hill Elementary has approved us to serve their campus starting in September 2017. For Side by Side Kids, this will be the first time that the ministry will be serving the Southwest side of town. In partnership with our friends at All Saints Presbyterian Church and Austin Ridge Bible Church – Southwest, we are seeking continued prayers as we reach outside our traditional boundaries.
We are truly blessed that God has opened both doors and hearts in Southwest Austin. We cannot wait to see how God will work at Oak Hill!
