Afterschool Site Coordinator (T.A. Brown/Barrington)
Liz was born and raised just north of Austin in Round Rock, Texas. Liz’s passion for social justice, serving the underserved, encouraging people to reach their potential, and inspiring and empowering others led her to earn a degree in Social Work from The University of Texas at Austin in May of 2016. After spending the last year in Tyler, Texas completing a Christian leadership and discipleship program called The Forge at Pine Cove, she is so excited to be back in Austin with the opportunity to serve as a Site Coordinator for both T.A. Brown Elementary and Mollie Barrington Elementary. Liz’s passion for children’s ministry began in High School, where she started volunteering and later interned in the Children’s Ministry at her church. Liz worked at a Christian summer camp for the past three years in various capacities, where her love for children and children’s ministry only continued to grow.
One of Liz’s favorite Bible verses is Ephesians 2:10, “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” Liz is thankful for the opportunity to inspire kids and families to remember that they are uniquely created and deeply loved by God, and encourage them to walk in the path that He has prepared for them. She looks forward to seeing what the Lord has in store for the future of Side by Side Kids!
Outside of work, Liz loves all things UT (Hook ‘Em!), playing with her two dogs, reading, traveling, spending time with friends and family, shopping, exploring coffee shops around town, being outdoors and enjoying all Austin has to offer.
