Abigail Chasteen

Afterschool Site Coordinator (Brown and Barrington Elementary)

Originally from Knoxville, Tennessee, Abigail never imagined that she would find her way to the great state of Texas. From an early age, she has been passionate about serving others and making them feel valued. Serving on an urban mission trip with her college ministry further reinforced the passion she had for serving the under-served. After graduating from East Tennessee State University with a Bachelors of Science in Microbiology and a Minor in Psychology in May of 2017, she decided to take a leap of faith and move to Tyler, Texas to work as an outdoor education instructor. During this year, Abigail saw the importance of education and knew she wanted to continue impacting young lives.

Abigail finds one of the most rewarding things in life is helping students realize they can achieve anything they put their mind to. Abigail is excited to step into her role as a Site Coordinator where she has the opportunity to help kids achieve their goals by showing them that they are loved and accepted for who they are.

Outside of the office, Abigail can be found watching football, basketball, and all things Tennessee (Go Vols!), spending time with friends, exploring new places, and enjoying God’s beauty in nature.
