Michael Mendez

Travis Heights Afterschool Program Coordinator

Michael is a native Austinite who returned back home after studying Media and Screen Studies & Theatre at Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts. There he was an active member of his community, volunteering in the city and being a leader in the Intervarsity Multiethnic Christian Fellowship where he led Greek IV, the Bible study group for members of Greek Life.

Continuing his interests in working in the community after working at the Motion Media Art Center as the Programs Manager of the Austin School of Film and Austin Cinemaker Space, Michael joined as a Volunteer Coordinator in 2024.

In his free time he likes to work on screenwriting and filmmaking within the Austin community, and watch movies too.
