Raven was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana, and relocated to Texas in 2005 due to Hurricane Katrina. She’s an experienced and passionate educator with over 10 years working within youth ministries and directing early childhood education programs.

Over the past 5 years, Raven gained valuable skills consulting as a Certified Doula. She fell in love with serving at-risk youth communities in 2009 when she was crowned Miss Juneteenth Austin and had the privilege of working with organizations like Girls Empowerment Network and Young Life Austin. Raven enjoys watching kids grow in their faith and develop healthy relationships with their peers.

Raven's a mom to three amazing children! Fun fact, her children are enrolled in Side-by-side kids too. Some of her favorite pastimes are developing recipes, exploring different cuisines, baking with her children, hiking, traveling, and volunteering at shelters and food banks.

She has worn many hats in her life, however, serving the youth always holds first place in her heart.
