Board Member | Associate Booking Agent, The Booking Biz

Julie Ann Hartman joined the SBSK board of directors in June 2019. Julie Ann and her husband, Doug, have lived in Austin since 1993. They have four children, Benjamin (24), Samuel (22), Alexander (19), and Thomas (18). Julie Ann and Doug are active members of Covenant Presbyterian Church.

Julie Ann earned her BA in Elementary Education from Wake Forest University graduating magna cum laude and a member of Phi Beta Kappa. She taught fourth grade for five years before her first son was born. While staying home to raise her four boys she earned her master’s in Education in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Texas at Austin.

She served on the Regents School of Austin Board of Directors for three years as the Curriculum liaison. She is the current Deacon Club Board of Directors president for her alma mater, Wake Forest. In the fall of 2018, Julie Ann joined the Booking Biz team as an associate booking agent connecting authors and illustrators with students, educators, and other writers.
